16+ Monktonian Award
Year 12 entry
The Monktonian Award is awarded to individuals who make a profound impact within their year group. This award recognises students whose character and presence positively influence their peers.
If you are seen as the cornerstone that unites your year group, you are an ideal candidate for this prestigious award. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence across various fields. They will often have had some leadership experience to date and are expected to continue making significant contributions to society after their time at Monkton.
The award will provide a scholar with:
- Specialised, targeted development tracking
- Targeted development in areas that most inspire them
- Termly mentoring by member of the Senior Leadership team
- Leadership development through mentoring younger pupils
- Annual report to parents
Expectations:
- Serve as weekend and weekday role model within the boarding house community
- Mentor younger pupils
Model Monkton values of humility, service, confidence & integrity within the life of the school
PREPARING FOR ASSESSMENT
Application deadline: Friday 16th October 2026
By the application deadline, submit to Admissions a piece to camera of no more than 90 seconds introducing yourself, talking about what you enjoy inside and outside school, how you seek to contribute positively to your year group, the ways you build relationships with different kinds of people.
SCHOLARSHIP ASSESSMENT DAY
Assessment date: week commencing 9th November 2026
- Interactive group activity
- Presentation to current Monktonian scholars on an area of personal interest
- Interview with Assistant Head
Interview with the Principal
